The client asset checklist to finish before kickoff
Collect the exact files, access and decisions the delivery team needs before the clock starts.

A kickoff feels productive when the team can act afterward. That requires more than a folder link. The useful checklist names each asset, acceptable format, owner and review status before the first production milestone.
Ask for outcomes, not “assets”
Replace “send brand assets” with concrete requests: vector logo, approved color references, current type licenses, photography and usage permissions. Add an example or accepted file type when the client may not know the production term.
Group requests by the person most likely to own them. The marketing lead, IT contact and legal reviewer should each see a short, relevant list.
- Exact item and acceptable format
- Person responsible
- Due date tied to a project milestone
Check access while everyone is present
A link is not the same as access. Open shared folders in the intended account, confirm permissions and identify any expiry or authentication step.
Use the kickoff to resolve access to analytics, hosting or publishing systems without asking anyone to send passwords. Platform invitations are safer and easier to revoke.
- Correct account invited
- Role has enough permission
- Recovery owner is known
Name what blocks the start
Not every missing input should delay the project. Mark each request as required before start, required before a named phase or optional.
Gather makes that readiness visible without pretending a submitted item is automatically usable. The team should still review file quality, rights and completeness.
- Start blockers
- Phase-specific dependencies
- Optional context
